Neighbouring signs share no element and no modality, and the traditional scheme counts them as “in aversion”, signs that cannot see each other. Each begins roughly where the other has just finished, which can be productive and can feel like talking past one another.

Both are ruled by Saturn and take structure seriously. Capricorn builds within institutions and Aquarius questions them, so the difference is whether rules are kept or rewritten.
